Effect always on

Hi, the pedal works great, but the effect is on regardless of the bypass switch and led. In toggle mode, the bypass switch turns the bypass led on and off, but the effect remains on. I can’t hear the relay switching, but there is a brief dip in volume when the bypass switch is hit. I reflowed around the relay, checked polarity on related components, and checked to be sure there was no short with the pot above the relay. I even put electrical tape under the pot to be sure!

In momentary mode, the same happens (led lights while bypass depressed, but does not change the effect coming through all the time).

I’ve gone through the troubleshooting guide and can’t find anything. Thanks in advance for any help – I know it will be something stupid I did, right?

The volume drop when the bypass switch is hit could better be described as a slight pop.

Somehow the relay isn’t switching. Make sure all the components in the relay circuit are installed properly. Use a magnifying glass to check for shorts around those transistors and diodes. It sounds like it wants to switch, but one of the coils is being held high and not allowed to go low. Other than these suggestions, I don’t know what is causing it. You may have to pull the transistors off the board and manually toggle the relay (with jumper wires from the 5v rail) to ensure it works properly.
