GuestJust finished my build and I’m not getting any effect. All led’s are working but the pedal is just bypassed.

ModeratorWhat step do you get stuck on in the troubleshooting guide?
Danny
GuestHello Brach,
I got the pedal working. I hadn’t bridged the jumpers (facepalm). However, I’m only getting the high side of the pedal. I am troubleshooting the low right now. This is what I assume is happening I should say. I don’t hear the harmonic trem sound from the unit, just normal trem. Turning the harmonic mix knob down gives me a straight signal. Let me know if I am mistaken here. Anyways, The optocoupler led’s are working fine; vr9 responds when adjusting the gain and checking resistance at r7 and +pad of optocoupler. I am unable to get a voltage reading for r7 due to my multimeter being “smart” and deciding to give me ohm readings. Same with the optocoupler. I’ll pick up a better multimeter tomorrow and check everything. I don’t see any visible bridges anywhere but will give it a more thorough check tomorrow as well.brach
ModeratorI’m glad you got that figured out. As you discovered, the instructions are very important to follow.
Please read about calibration mode. That should help you troubleshoot the low side. I’m assuming you have the mode switch set properly for harmonic tremolo, correct?Danny
GuestI’ll take a look at calibration mode. I was pretty tired by the time I finished the pedal and had a midterm exam the following morning so everything was kind of rushed toward the end. When you mention mode switch, are you referring to the “out of phase” toggle or is there something else I missed?
brach
ModeratorYes, sorry, I meant the phase switch.
Danny
GuestCalibration mode is very helpful. Panning counter clockwise, I’m getting a very muffled/quiet low pass frequency but it is coming through.
Danny
GuestAnd yes the phase switch is set to out of phase. I’m going to try adjusting the LP trim and see if I can get it to brighten up a bit. In your experience, where else should I be looking?
Danny
GuestOk, I got it working! I’m not sure what the problem was exactly but while troubleshooting, the stomp switch wires came loose so I resoldered them using some solid core I had. While doing that I noticed a small piece of a clipped lead was stuffed under one of the resistors so I removed it. I also went back and touched up the trim solder points as well as resistors next to the low trim. One of those did the trick. My best guess is the piece of lead was adding resistance but I’m not certain. In any case, it sounds awesome! I appreciate your help and I’m excited to add this pedal to my signal chain. Cheers.

ModeratorGreat! I’m glad it worked out for you. Most likely touching up the solder joints fixed it. The solder underneath the resistor wouldn’t haven’t made a difference unless it was shorting 2 solder joints.
Anyway, good job! Enjoy the pedal! -
