The pedal sounds fantastic, however, I am able to hear the relay “clicking” even when the pedal is bypassed. The frequency of the click changes in concert with the rate knob while the effect is bypassed. Strangely, the sound appears even when the pedal itself is completely bypassed (cable routed to next pedal in chain, but Quaverato is still powered by same DC brick). I did have to jumper the pads, not sure if that could be a possible cause.

By “jumper the pads” I mean, I messed up the pads and had to bypass those.

Have you tried using an isolated power supply for the Quaverato? Typically, the Quaverato performs best when it uses its own dedicated wall wart, preferably a linear power supply with a transformer instead of a SMPS.
Let me know if that changes things at all.

Thanks Brach! That does appear to be the issue. While I have you, any tips for using it in an effects loop or after a preamp (line level) pedal? I get a massive volume drop unless I push the volume way up to almost the point of distortion. I tried putting a boss pedal in-between the preamp and the Quaverato, but no change. Do I just need a better buffer?

    Alex,
    (sorry for the later reply)
I’m glad that helped with the power supply.
It sounds like something is wrong with you effects loop (or Quaverato). There should not be a volume drop at all. The input impedance of the Quaverato is 1M ohm and that is overly sufficient for any line level output. Have you used this line out before with other pedals? Does the Quaverato work fine when a guitar is plugged into its input while its output is plugged into the guitar amp input jack? Are the cables known to be all good? I don’t know what else it could be. I’m sorry, I hope you are able to figure this out.

Hi Brach, yes it works fine with guitar into amp input. Haven’t tried with other FX loops, so possibly something to do with my Orange Rocker 32, but it has a buffered FX loop. I notice the same when using with a preamp pedal (Kraken V4). Same thing happens to an analog Joyo EQ pedal I have, but not to my digital pedals (Strymon DIG and Nuenaber Illumine).

It sounds like there is something weird going on with your effects loop if the same thing happens to other pedals.
