(5 customer reviews)

$220.00$259.00

The Percolator 2 Watt Tube Amp (valve amp) DIY KIT is perfect for electric guitar, cigar box guitar and harmonica. Ideal for bedroom, apartment, practice, studio, or stage. Unlike any other production guitar amp, it has an all-tube signal path that uses only one (NOS) Compactron tube (valve). The single volume knob allows for warm, rich, clear tones at lower levels and aggressive overdriven tones at higher levels — all at a moderate volume. The kit includes everything you need to build this low watt amp as shown. You can finish the cabinet any way you like, or mount the head into your own cab. See the “Documentation” tab below to download our full color, detailed manuals and videos. They provide clear, step-by-step instruction on how to build your very own Percolator tube amp!

First off, this is the first amp kit I have built (my third) that didn’t have a missing part. So, kudos to the ZDL folks for getting that right!

Anyway, this amp sounds great. The 5F1 tones are there, and achievable at low volumes. Dime it, and let the guitar control knobs and your playing style get you in and out of breakup territory with ease. And of course, the directions were easy to follow, and all of the wood parts were cut properly. Highly recommended!

The Percolator amplifier is well designed. All parts were there, fit perfectly and with the detailed instructions found on the website it is a very doable project. Building it was a breeze.

The amp looks great and sounds even better. I had been looking around for an amplifier that sounds well at lower volumes and the Percolator does that perfectly. With the volume turned up you get a very cool distorted sound.

Both men at Zeppelin Design Lab were very helpful and quick to response to my questions via email.

I highly recommend the Percolator Amp!

This is a fantastic amp and is so fun to play. I play a Tele through it and the breakup sounds so sweet. The amp is built well and customer service is top notch.
