Jim Smith’s gorgeous customized Percolator Combo. I guessed the finish was a colored glaze, but no: Jim applied Valspar Pecan wood stain and let it dwell (keeping it wet!) for a good 15 minutes before wiping off the excess, then added a clear poly top coat. Allowing the stain to penetrate so long really gave a rich, deep, uniform color to the poplar.
