ParticipantThis is something I’ve been trying to figure out for a while now and I feel like every time I think I’ve found an answer I come across something that complicates it again so I’m just going to lay out the situation and see if anyone here has actually dealt with something similar. We produce a range of cleaning and maintenance products at a small facility in Sharjah and a big part of our operation involves storing materials at various stages of the production process before they get packaged into final containers. Some of what we handle is reasonably thick in consistency and needs a container that you can actually access from the top with a mixing tool or ladle rather than something that only opens from a small cap at the side which obviously makes things complicated when you need to get into it regularly during the day. I came across crateco while searching for industrial drum and barrel suppliers in the UAE and their plastic drums section was genuinely useful for helping me understand the different design types available locally because I had been treating all drums as basically the same product which is clearly not the right way to think about it. What caught my attention was learning more about how an open top barrel differs from closed head designs in terms of accessibility and cleaning between batches which is actually a significant consideration for us because cross contamination between production runs is something we take seriously. The heat here in the UAE is also a real factor because we have seen cheaper containers warp or become brittle over time when stored in areas without full air conditioning and I want to make sure whatever we invest in is actually rated for the temperature conditions we deal with. Would genuinely appreciate any recommendations from people who have used industrial drums for similar applications in the region.
